Suicide Prevention Coordinator Nalini Heynen spent November networking and sharing information with community organisations and other service providers across several local government areas.
Her activities included:
attending Campbelltown City Youth Interagency meeting (which identified a need for community engagement opportunities inside of school hours)
planning an end of year event for young people at the Macarthur Wollondilly Diversity Network meeting
connecting with other services at Meet Your Neighbour Wingecarribee (Lifeline was invited to be a placeholder for the Mental Health Disaster Response Steering Committee Wingecarribee/Wollondilly)
helping young people make friendship bracelets at Kindness Day at Claymore Community Centre
networking with 14 participants at Let’s Talk Aboriginal at Lurnea Community Centre
attending Fairfield Multicultural Interagency meeting, where there was interest in community training and providing an in-service for stakeholders
collaborating to support the Goulburn community at the Goulburn Community Action Group, looking at all aspects of suicide prevention, postvention, and training/education
attending a Wollondilly networking meeting
accompanying Suicide Prevention Team Leader Anne Rogers for a presentation about suicide prevention services at an inservice at headspace Campbelltown
